A tribute page is a webpage that tells the story of a person’s life who has passed away. It’s a place where friends and family can say nice things or add stories and simply remember the good things about someone’s life. It’s a legacy for the successors of that person to be able to read and enjoy for generations to come. Our tribute pages sit on the club website. Friends and family can also sponsor community foundation projects in the deceased person’s name, or plant a tree in their memory or order an engraved keepsake of that person.
The tribute pages have been designed to be very simple so that everyone can use them but if you have a technical problem simply contact us through the contact us page.
Tribute pages are free to create and manage.
If there are two profiles then message the other page owner through the tribute page and one of you can delete your page. Two people can manage one page together.
Yes you can choose to sponsor a multiple of projects in the name of the deceased.
Yes there are different types of trees available to sponsor and name in different locations. One remembrance tree at the stadium or the training ground is more expensive than planting trees in local forests. Forest based trees can be planted in higher numbers and for less money as they are not as accessible – especially on a match day!
Everyone involved with a project will receive a remembrance card of the deceased with a QR code linking to their tribute page and their name will be embroidered on the new kit donated. Photographs will be shared with the Tribute Page Manager.
The trees are planted either around the stadium, around the training ground in Lostock where the Academy and Women’s team play. We also plant in the local forest or in the tree lined streets of the surrounding suburbs . You can choose where to plant your remembrance trees on the ‘Plant a Tree’ page.
Engraving usually takes a little longer than buying products that are not personalised but each product is different so look on the page for delivery timeframes. If you cannot see the timeframes on the page then contact us through the contact us page and we’ll let you know but please read the product page first. You can usually pay the delivery company for faster delivery. The keepsake products are engraved in Greater Manchester so if you live in Bolton they don’t have far to travel.
Our delivery partners are worldwide companies but check the terms and conditions on the product page for any exemptions.
The annual memorial lunch date is listed on the Memorial Lunches page of www.legacyofbolton.com and the date changes each year but its in the same week each year. This is a lunch held at our stadium in loving memory of lost loved ones. Lunch and drinks can be bought in advance online. Online booking allows families and friends to sit and eat together.
Legacy of Bolton is an initiative to remember the people who lived their lives as loyal fans of Bolton Wanderers. Fans can be remembered online or offline in meaningful ways so that their legacy can live on through Bolton Wanderers.
Please send us what you would like the club to do after you pass away and we’ll explain if or how we could arrange that.
The pitch is re-laid every ten years and in 2024 a limited number of families with ashes of loved ones at home can make a fixed donation to the Community Foundation and scatter their ashes under the football pitch at the Toughsheet Bolton Wanderers Community Stadium. Contact us for more information.
